Shrinkwell makes images, screen recordings and PDFs smaller the moment you copy or save them, with no visible difference. Your originals are kept, just in case.
ShrinkwellCopy a screenshot and the clipboard gets a smaller version, ready to paste into email, chat or a web form. Save a file into a folder you watch, like Screenshots or Downloads, and it shrinks a moment later on its own.
Files never get bigger and never get optimized twice. Originals go to a backup folder by default, so you can restore any of the last 50 items from the tray.
What it does
Clipboard
Copied screenshots and images are swapped for a smaller version. If you paste before it is ready, the original is pasted instead.
Watched folders
New images, videos and PDFs in the folders you choose are optimized after they finish saving. Downloads in progress and cloud-only files are left alone.
By hand
Drop files on the drop window or the tray flyout, choose files, or right-click in File Explorer and use Send to › Optimize with Shrinkwell.
Images, video, PDF
PNG, JPEG, WebP, static GIF and BMP. MP4, MOV and WebM recordings are saved as MP4. PDFs are repacked and can have their images reduced.
Three presets
Lossless, Balanced or Smallest, with optional per-type overrides, resizing and photo metadata removal.
Originals kept
Move them to a backup folder, keep them next to the file, or don't keep them. Restore original works for the last 50 items.
Paste original
Press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+V to paste the untouched version of the last clipboard image. Apps you exclude always get the original.
